RATIONALE:
Teens are influenced by other teens.
The "leaders" of various peer groups have impact whether
"good" or "bad" on their peers. These teens are the
future leaders of our community, and the Leadership Hickman Class of 2000 in
cooperation with the Hickman County Extension Service (4-H) wants to develop
today's youth into tomorrow's leaders for Hickman County.
CONCEPT:
Youth Leadership Hickman is a ten-month
program that consists of a series of activities and events that will provide
awareness and skills to teens to make them responsible, capable and involved
leaders and citizens of tomorrow. Activities involve a weekend retreat,
two day sessions, six nightly sessions and a county tour.
TARGETED AUDIENCE:
Juniors and Seniors at Hickman County High
School and East Hickman High School may participate. Each participant will be selected through an
application/interview process based on leadership potential.
OBJECTIVES:
The objectives of Youth Leadership Hickman
are as follows:
